| "one mile at a time" |
At first it was just a goal to do a marathon-which is coming up soon Dec 4th...but now it is my release and I will do it for as long as my body allows it
How long have you been running? How did you get started? Why did you choose running over other activities?
Believe it or not, this year...Feb-friend asked about doing a marathon and I jumped on board- I chose running because it is one thing I never gave myself credit being able to do
How do you motivate yourself to run regularly? What about on the days the weather is bad or your are feeling particularly lazy?
I treat running like a job-I hold myself accountable for it. Plus the results with my body keeps me motivated
Do you use a running coach, or read any books to aid in your training?
I run with a friend who I call coach-he is a experienced marathoner/runner- there def are books I would like to read that I have been told about
How do you fit running in with your daily schedule?
I have set days right now that run for training. some days are off but I make them up
Do your friends and family support your running or think you are crazy?
Support has given me my wings
What is your favorite running terrain (road, trail, treadmill)?
pavement. solid therapy.
What is the hardest race you’ve run to date?
no race was hard so far but training and my longest run at 20 was difficult but left smiling
What is the most enjoyable race you’ve run to date?
prob the cancer 5k for kids I did. so inspiring
Have you ever been injured due to running? What were the ramifications?
knock on wood. just right now toes aren't lookin pretty
Do you use any music or run tracking devices when you run, or are you a naked runner?
spotify has been my savior for sure
How do you get yourself through the difficult parts of your runs? Do you have a personal mantra or do you just give up?
I bought a sportid wrist for safety and it says "one mile at a time" I do have conversations with myself sometimes though just telling myself "yes you can"
A lot of runners know that "Who has the runs" has a double meaning. How do you deal with the occasional "problem" that plagues every runner at one time or another?
knock on wood again. only had to tinkle and portapotties have worked out
What advice would you give to someone thinking about taking up running?
Give it a shot. cheapest therapy there is
