Do you live to run? Do you plan your day around your running? Do you try to get everyone you know to start running?
If you answered yes to any of these, you may have the runs. If you answered yes to ALL of them, you definitely do!

Dances With Dirt Hell (After Thoughts)

We have gone to Hell and back.
Team Who Has the Runs, has so much to share with you about our first Dances With Dirt experience that we had to break it into two posts. You can read the actual race recap here. What follows are our after thoughts on the race. I will also be throwing in random pictures from race day that didn't make it into the recap.

Julie, Scott, and Andrea
What was your favorite leg?

Mike: This Sucks
Jerry: Stripper Pole
Scott: Styx River of Death
Julie: Potto
Andrea: Purgatory
Jerry, Julie (having lunch), and Mike
What was your least favorite leg?

Mike: Xodus
Jerry: Vertigo
Scott: The Stupid Lake (and F@*&%G Hill)
Julie: None "I love trail running in the fall"
Andrea: Rave Redux

The Sesame Street girls
After seeing and hearing what your teammates went through, what leg would you like to do next year?

Mike: River of death, I have never not enjoyed a run through a river or Buttslider, that sounded like some fun down hills and lots of things to trip you up
Jerry: If I did this race enough years, I wouldn’t mind doing every leg at one time or another. Definitely have to do “This Sucks” sometime so I can take a bath with a cute woman afterward.
Scott: Stripper Pole sounds extremely challenging which equates to fun for me
Julie: I would do any legs..not a fan of swamp though
Andrea: I wouldn't mind trying them all except This Sucks.

Jerry after Buttslider, a little muddier than he expected.
What legs do you absolutely refuse to do? Why?

Mike: None, I'll try anything twice
Jerry: There are no legs I wouldn't do.
Scott: I am hoping to do every leg at least once.
Julie: Once again, I'm not a fan of swamp.
Andrea: This Sucks: I am afraid of being lost forever in the muck.

Andrea, Jerry, and Julie
What was your favorite thing about the day?

Mike: It's a tie between my cold beer after the swamp, and sharing the day with friends that like to do crazy things
Jerry: Favorite thing is a tossup between finishing a little over 16 miles without rupturing my Achilles or gaining intriguing insights into what Julie likes to do in the back of a pickup truck
Scott: My favorite thing about the day was tackling a truly challenging course with a fun group of runners.
Julie: I just love trail running especially "extreme" trail running, and especially with my favorite running buddies!
Andrea: #1 Spending the day with fun, active, half-crazy running friends and strangers who all love to run. #2 Green porta-johns with sanitizer

Scott got a little wet in the River of Death

What would you change about DWD?

Mike: BEER at the end, and shortening the run before doing the swamp leg. Also, I think I would skip the pizza and get a nice hot hamburger after the race.
Jerry: They need beer at the post race. That was really my only disappointment.
Scott: I don't know if I'd change anything about the race, maybe more food choices at the end. But free pizza is always awesome!
Julie: Loved every minute of it!! Fun celebration of running!
Andrea: I concur with Jerry on the beer!
